KPN buys GiessenlandenNet

Dutch nationwide telco KPN has acquired 100% of GiessenlandenNet, an open fibre network operator serving 6,500 premises in the rural areas/centres of Giessenburg, Giessen-Oudekerk, Schelluinen, Hoogblokland, Hoornaar, Noordeloos and Arkel. KPN was already active on the network via its rural multi-play subsidiary Solcon. The rural open network was previously owned by the GiessenlandenNet Foundation.
