Vodafone Germany has rolled out gigabit cable speeds for an additional 960,000 homes in hundreds of towns in the three states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Wurttemberg and Hesse. The new deployments have increased its 1Gbps cable footprint to 18.7 million households across the country, and the firm is aiming to supply over 25 million homes with these speeds by 2022 through the rollout of DOCSIS 3.1.

In addition, Vodafone says it has so far expanded its gigabit network to 280 industrial parks in 68 municipalities in North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Wurttemberg and Hesse, and to 442 industrial areas in 122 municipalities nationwide.
