Paris-based telecoms company Iliad Group has published its financial results for the three months ended 31 March 2020, reporting a 6.9% increase in its consolidated revenues to EUR1.382 billion (USD1.496 billion) from EUR1.293 billion in 1Q 2019, with its operations in France generating EUR1.233 billion (up 1.7% year-on-year), while its Italian unit contributed revenue of EUR150 million by end-March 2020. The company’s domestic unit generated mobile revenues of EUR527 million in the period under review (up 8.1% y-o-y), while its landline service revenues increased by 1.3% y-o-y to EUR663 million (1Q19: EUR654 million).
In operational terms, Iliad Group’s mobile customer base in its domestic market reached 13.326 million subscribers by 31 March 2020, up from 13.313 million in 4Q19. In Italy, Iliad reported a total of 5.806 million mobile users at end-March, up from 5.281 million quarter-on-quarter. The number of broadband subscribers in France, meanwhile, reached 6.507 million, with fibre users standing at 1.975 million (1.760 million in 4Q19). Iliad also noted that it had increased its LTE-700 sites by 2,100 in the quarter under review, taking the total number to around 14,200, with 8.278 million subscribers on its unlimited 4G plan at the end of the reporting period. The number of connectable fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) nodes, meanwhile, reached 15.400 million (13.900 million at end-2019), with a target to cover 20 million by 2022.
