US-based Liberty Latin America (LLA) has reported revenue of USD931 million for the three months ended 31 March 2020, down from USD943 million one year earlier. Operating income, meanwhile, decreased 4.9% year-on-year, from USD113 million to USD108 million. The net loss attributable to shareholders was USD181 million in the quarter under review, compared to a deficit of USD42 million in 1Q19.
In operational terms, LLA reported a consolidated mobile user base of 3.620 million at 31 March 2020, alongside 2.657 million fixed broadband subscribers, 1.985 million pay-TV customers and 1.459 million fixed voice users.
LLA CEO Balan Nair commented: ‘This is not our first rodeo on dealing with a crisis. Like I said before, we are running this like a hurricane just hit us. But unlike a hurricane, we have nothing to rebuild at the end of this. We are pragmatic about the challenges and confident about the future.’
