US Virgin Islands-based ISP Broadband VI has enlisted Siae Microelettronica to boost its network capabilities with improved microwave backhaul solutions, as it continues to strengthen its infrastructure, post-Hurricane Irma and Maria. The vendor has reconfigured the operator’s networks with carrier-grade 10Gbps (ALFOplus80HDX) and 1.4Gbps (ALFOplus2) capacities, as Broadband VI seeks to improve resiliency and reliability for end-users.

Broadband VI, which offers fixed-wireless and fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) connectivity, was founded in 2002 by Rick Hasson. The company’s networks support maximum down/uplink speeds of 50Mbps/6Mbps.
