Vodafone completes Malta sale

UK-based Vodafone Group has completed the sale of its wholly owned subsidiary in Malta to Monaco Telecom. The EUR250 million (USD275 million) deal was first announced in December 2019. Vodafone Malta, the country’s largest cellco by subscribers, will continue to operate under the Vodafone brand for a transitional period. Monaco Telecom, which is backed by French telecoms investor Xavier Niel as well as the Monegasque government, now has operations in Monaco, Afghanistan, Cyprus and Malta.
