German telecoms company 1&1 Drillisch has reported revenue of EUR3.67 billion (USD4.0 billion) for the twelve months ended 31 December 2019, an increase of 1.1% from the year-ago period, as service revenues rose 3.1% year-on-year to EUR2.94 billion. EBITDA, however, declined from EUR721.9 million in 2018 to EUR683.5 million the following year, mainly due to higher costs for advance service purchases following the expiration of the temporary adjustment mechanism of an advance service contract at the end of 2018. 1&1 Drillisch expects revenue and earnings for fiscal year 2020 to be broadly stable with the previous year.
Meanwhile, 1&1 Drillisch reported that the number of mobile internet customers jumped by 8.6% to 9.99 million at 31 December 2019, with fixed broadband customers unchanged year-on-year, at 4.34 million.
