Quickline books uptick in mobile sector as fixed segments dip

26 Mar 2020

Swiss full-service provider Quickline has booked a 0.6% increase in annual turnover to CHF268 million (USD274 million) for the year to 31 December 2019, despite recording declines in its user bases for broadband, TV and fixed telephony. The group counted 179,600 fixed broadband subscribers at the end of 2019 compared to 181,250 twelve months earlier, whilst TV and fixed telephony subscriptions contract by 2.9% and 4.0% year-on-year to 338,600 and 114,250 respectively. The company did record growth in the mobile segment, however, adding 13,650 net new users to bring its customer total to 55,800 by the end of the year. Commenting on the results, CEO Frederic Goetschmann noted that network access is increasingly via mobile devices, and that the company’s growth in the wireless segment ‘shows that we are responding to the trend … and are well-positioned with our attractive product portfolio.’
