Senegal seeks Vietnamese investment in telecoms

24 Mar 2020

The government of Senegal has announced plans to attract Vietnamese investment in its telecoms sector, reports Agence Ecofin. A partnership was discussed last week in Dakar between Nguyen Thanh Vinh, the new Vietnamese ambassador to Algeria and Senegal, and Senegal’s president, Macky Sall. Viettel Group, Vietnam’s major telecoms investment vehicle with subsidiaries in Cameroon, Burundi, Mozambique and Tanzania, has made no secret of its ambition to enter more African markets.
