StarHub switches on new smart Wi-Fi mesh network

Singapore’s second largest telco by subscribers, StarHub, has launched a new mesh Wi-Fi networking system in the city-state, which it claims can offer unparalleled Wi-Fi coverage and reliability in end users’ homes. Dubbed ‘Smart WiFi’, the telco’s new offer comprises an advanced mesh Wi-Fi router which is available to users signing up to its HomeHub Plus value plan (with Netflix), or any Fibre Home Broadband user taking a plan of 1Gbps and above. Customers with larger apartments and homes can also expand their Wi-Fi coverage by purchasing more StarHub Smart WiFi units, it says, as the units are simply ‘plug-and-play’ and are available at SGD5 or SGD10 (USD3.5 or USD7) each per month over 24 or twelve months, respectively.
