Russia’s Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) posted a 5.5% rise in consolidated annual group revenue to RUB476.1 billion (USD6.4 billion) in FY19 on a continuing operations basis, with adjusted operating income before depreciation and amortisation (OIBDA) climbing 2.8% to RUB210.3 billion. Net profit attributable to shareholders jumped to RUB54.2 billion in the twelve months to 31 December 2019, compared to RUB6.8 billion in FY18. Group CAPEX reached RUB91.5 billion in 2019, up from RUB86.5 billion the previous year. Results exclude MTS’ recently divested Ukrainian mobile subsidiary, with Armenia now the group’s only reported consolidated foreign division (while its part-owned Belarus subsidiary is not consolidated).
Russian total revenues reached RUB472.6 billion in 2019, up 5.5% from RUB448.1 billion in 2018, and accounting for 99% of reported group revenue. Russian annual mobile service revenue improved by 2.4% to RUB320.1 billion while Russian fixed service revenue dropped by 0.5% to RUB60.1 billion. Total Russian mobile subscriptions (including M2M) grew 1.4% year-on-year to 79.1 million at end-2019.
