Mobile operator Vodafone Ukraine has extended its partnership agreement with UK giant Vodafone Group, the latter confirmed this week. The Ukrainian cellco – registered as VF Ukraine – was sold by Russia’s Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) to Azerbaijan’s Bakcell – part of the Neqsol group – in December 2019, and the latest announcement means that it will continue to use the Vodafone brand and enjoy direct access to Vodafone Group’s central procurement and roaming services for another five years. The new agreement is also aimed at delivering further synergies, with the two companies collaborating on a range of consumer and business products. This includes ongoing support for Vodafone Ukraine’s recently launched IoT managed connectivity service, which leverages Vodafone Group’s global IoT platform. Vodafone will also provide strategic and operational network and IT support, and there is scope for further future collaboration on the digital reform of public services and smart city solutions in Ukraine, a statement added.
The partnership to date has seen Vodafone Ukraine incorporate a number of Vodafone Group’s services such as the My Vodafone App, self-care solutions, unlimited data tariffs, Roam Like Home and Vodafone Red tariffs.
The UK group’s Vodafone Partner Markets division currently partners with 28 companies in 43 countries.
