Cable company UPC Romania has announced that it will be rebranded as Vodafone from 1 April. This follows Vodafone Group’s acquisition of the cable operator in July 2019 and the integration of its operations. The company revealed that the legal merger will be completed by 31 March and will see UPC Romania absorbed into Vodafone Romania and cease to exist as a legal entity. The cableco has stressed that, although the UPC brand and product names will be dropped, customers of the two companies will see no change in contract terms, pricing or service quality as a result of the merger. Customers who subscribe to Vodafone’s mobile services in addition to UPC’s fixed and TV packages will continue to receive two invoices.
