The Libyan Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology Company (LPTIC), the government holding company in charge of all state-owned telecoms firms, held a meeting with equipment vendor Ericsson on 26 February at which an integrated plan of action for the maintenance and development of the country’s networks and infrastructure was agreed. In a Facebook post, the LPTIC revealed it had discussed how Ericsson could provide technical support to ease logistic and technical issues faced by major network development programmes, including Almadar Aljaded’s 5G project launched in October. A training programme was also agreed to enable Libyan university graduates to gain experience and skills at Ericsson facilities around the world.
