DTAC to launch 5G services in 1H20

Thai operator Total Access Communication (DTAC) plans to launch 5G broadband services on its newly acquired 26GHz band in selected locations by the first half of 2020, local newspaper The Bangkok Post reports. DTAC CEO Sharad Mehrotra was cited as saying that his company will start the deployment of its 5G network in the 700MHz band to extend the service to rural areas in the second half of the year. The executive said: ‘Acquiring 5G spectrum is just the start of the journey, with much more to come every quarter this year. Our goal is to never stop improving on connectivity solutions.’
