20 Feb 2020

New Zealand wholesale fixed line provider Chorus has announced that its new Hyperfibre broadband service, which is capable of delivering symmetrical speeds of up to 4Gbps, will be launched in Queenstown, Wanaka, Cromwell and Wakatipu on 26 February. This is the first stage in a wider rollout programme that will see the service made available in Wellington, Invercargill, Auckland and Palmerston North in the first half of the year, ahead of nationwide deployment from September. Although speeds of 2Gbps and 4Gbps will initially be available, Chorus has plans to introduce an 8Gbps service in the future.
