C Spire boosts capacity with 2.5GHz spectrum

Mississippi-based mobile operator C Spire has announced that it has boosted capacity on its networks via the deployment of additional 2.5GHz spectrum. The cellco says that the multi-million-dollar network enhancement programme encompasses carrier aggregation (CA), twelve-layer MIMO, improvements in spectral efficiency (via 256 QAM) and overall network optimisation for balanced data delivery. The upgrades have been applied to 172 cell sites across 40 cities.
