Telecom Cook Islands has scrapped its Bluesky brand name and is now trading as Vodafone Cook Islands. The Pacific island nation’s sole telco made the changeover on 15 January, adopting the Vodafone name for all its mobile, fixed line and broadband services, with a new website and red-themed marketing. The new brand was already being used by the operator’s Fijian parent group Amalgamated Telecom Holdings (ATH) for its Vodafone Fiji unit, via a non-equity partnership with UK-based mobile giant Vodafone Group. Under a sub-licensing agreement with Vodafone Fiji, ATH’s other subsidiaries in Samoa, American Samoa, Vanuatu and Kiribati are expected to undergo similar rebranding later this year, Cook Islands News reported.
