ER-Telecom looking to buy Seven Sky

13 Jan 2020

ER-Telecom, Russia’s second largest broadband provider by subscribers, is negotiating the purchase of Moscow ISP Seven Sky, reports Telecom Daily citing a source familiar with the situation. The report says that Seven Sky is a notable player in the capital, with an estimated 160,000 subscribers in the metropolitan area, with market shares approximated at 2% in Moscow city and 4% in Moscow region.

ER-Telecom is historically stronger in other Russian regions, but has recently begun increasing its presence in the Moscow market, having agreed the purchase of one of the oldest ISPs in the country, RiNet, in November 2019 (representing ER’s first acquisition of a consumer internet provider in the capital).
