TDS completes USD80m Continuum takeover

6 Jan 2020

TDS Broadband Service, a subsidiary of Telephone and Data Systems, and operated by TDS Telecom, has announced that it has successfully acquired the cable, broadband and business assets of North Carolina-based Continuum for a purchase price of USD80 million. Continuum’s networks pass a total of 36,500 households in Mooresville, Davidson, Cornelius and Huntersville.

TDS and the relevant municipalities announced the purchase agreement in August 2019 and local voters went on to pass a required referendum in Mooresville and Davidson in November. All other regulatory requirements have been fulfilled. Going forward, customers can expect to see the Continuum brand in use for many months ahead. TDS Telecom President and CEO Jim Butman clarified: ‘We are not in a hurry to change the name. We want to get to know the community and grow with the needs of the area.’
