Proximus to step up fibre-optic rollout in Kortrijk

18 Dec 2019

Belgian full-service telecoms operator Proximus has announced the expansion of its FTTP deployment in the city of Kortrijk, where its fibre network already passes more than 700 businesses in seven industrial zones. Under the new project, the company aims to extend coverage to a total of 7,000 new and existing homes and businesses by 2021.

Proximus is currently rolling out FTTP in twelve cities as part of its ten-year EUR3 billion (USD3.3 billion) ‘Fibre for Belgium’ programme unveiled in December 2016, which aims to connect more than 85% of businesses and more than 50% of households to the network.
