3 Dec 2019

Vodafone Greece says its Giga Home fibre-based networks are now available to around 300,000 homes across the country. The firm uses fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) and faster fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) equipment to offer services at speeds of up to 200Mbps, with the ability to upgrade to 1Gbps in future. FTTC has been deployed in parts of Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras and Volos, with networks in Veria and Ioannina under construction, while FTTH is being deployed in areas of Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras and Pereia. Vodafone is eventually aiming to pass 450,000 premises with fibre infrastructure.
