Orange poised to offload 1,500 Spanish cell towers

Orange Espana is preparing to sell 1,500 cell towers in Spain, according to local business daily Expansion. The sites in question are based in a mixture urban and rural locations, and the total package has been valued at around EUR250 million (USD276 million). The sale is said to be at an advanced stage, and international tower companies American Tower and Cellnex have been named as the leading bidders. Going forward, Orange has reportedly identified a further 4,000 towers that it is keen to monetise, suggesting more deals are on the cards.
