Telenor completes VEON exit

Telenor Group of Norway has completed the sale of its remaining 8.9% stake in Amsterdam-headquartered multinational telecoms group VEON. Telenor announced on Friday the sale of around 157 million VEON shares at USD2.35 per share (for a total price of around USD369 million) in line with its previously announced intention to fully divest its holding. VEON, which is listed in New York and Amsterdam, confirmed in a corporate release this morning that its free float has increased from approximately 34.9% to 43.8%.
