CNT launches tender for contract to help find private sector partner

18 Nov 2019

Ecuador’s state-owned operator Corporacion Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CNT) has announced that it has invited ten international banks and management consultants to submit bids for a contract to provide advisory services as part of the process to find a private sector partner to assume day-to-day operation control of the telco. Bids must be submitted by 26 November and the winner will be announced in December.

The chosen firm will initially have 180 days to perform an assessment of CNT and recommend a new business model designed to ensure the company’s financial sustainability and future growth. It will then proceed to establish a competitive process to select a partner to take over temporary management of the company.
