T-Mobile Czech Republic is looking to realise operational efficiencies by migrating to a fully open, future-proof operating system (O/S), and to that end has selected Paris-based EKINOPS to deliver streamlined management across its part of the product portfolio with the OneAccess branded OneOS6 O/S. The telco says the solution will deliver ‘huge operational efficiencies’ in the delivery of its traditional service portfolio. Under the tie-up, EKINOPS says that utilising the OneOS6 O/S across all OneAccess devices and x86-based universal CPE (uCPE), testing, maintenance and delivery of new services is dramatically simplified, while training and integration costs are reduced.
As reported in yesterday’s (12 November) CommsUpdate, T-Mobile Czech Republic expects to have covered 100,000 households with fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) technology by the end of the year, providing peak throughput of up to 10Gbps. In a press release the Deutsche Telekom unit said that in the long run it targets making the infrastructure available to one million homes across Czechia by the end of 2025, working in cooperation with local fibre-optics partners.
