Creditors of US fixed line operator Frontier Communications have hired consulting firm Altman Vilandrie & Co. to conduct due diligence on the telco, Bloomberg reports, citing people familiar with the matter. As per the report, the consultant has been charged with developing a post-reorganisation business plan, and Frontier could file for bankruptcy in the first quarter of 2020, ahead of more than USD300 million of interest due in March. People with knowledge of the matter have informed the news agency that the process could result in the biggest telecoms debt load restructuring in nearly two decades. Frontier’s debt pile is said to be in the region of USD17.5 billion.
