NBN Co creates new business unit, launches business-grade satellite service

Australia’s NBN Co has announced the launch of a new business unit which it says will be ‘solely focused on meeting customer needs and raising the digital capability of regional and remote communities across Australia’. In a press release regarding the development, NBN Co noted that the new business unit – known as ‘Regional & Remote’ – will amalgamate its fixed-wireless and satellite operations, while adding that it will include an expanded community and stakeholder engagement capability ‘to ensure that customer expectations are understood, including across different community segments and business sectors’. Meanwhile, NBN Co also announced the launch of its ‘business nbn Satellite Service’, described as a business-grade wholesale satellite service that will help meet the increasing needs of medium or large businesses, enterprise and government users in regional and remote areas.

Commenting on the developments, NBN Co CEO Stephen Rue was cited as saying: ‘We’re redoubling our commitment to regional Australia with a focused business unit responsible for engaging with regional customers and meeting their needs … Today’s announcement forms part of our evolution as a business, sharpening our focus on becoming a full-scale, service delivery organisation, centred on customer experience.’
