Biznet expands fibre internet to Pontianak, West Kalimantan

30 Oct 2019

Indonesian broadband service provider Biznet Networks has extended its fibre-optic network footprint to the city of Pontianak in West Kalimantan, the first city on Borneo to receive its service as the ISP continues efforts to cover a number of cities on the island. The ISP is aiming to provide super-fast internet services to the SME and business segment, as well as targeting residential users, and currently serves more than 115 cities along Java, Bali, Sumatra, Batam and Kalimantan with a fibre-optic network spanning more than 33,000km.

Last month Biznet extended its fibre network to three new areas: Tasikmalaya, a city in West Java that has considerable potential in the creative industry; Kediri, East Java, the third most populous city in East Java after Surabaya and Malang; and Pontianak City, West Kalimantan, having previously announced in August 2019 that its network and services were present in 112 cities. By the end of 2019 Biznet Network also aims to be live in Manado City, Sulawesi Island.
