US telecoms giant Verizon Communications has reported total operating revenues of USD32.9 billion for the three months ended 30 September 2019, up 0.9% on an annualised basis, from USD32.6 billion. Third quarter operating income was reported at USD8.2 billion, compared to USD7.7 billion in 3Q18, while net income climbed from USD5.1 billion to USD5.3 billion in the period under review.
In operational terms, Verizon’s Consumer unit closed out 30 September 2019 with 93.922 million wireless subscribers, 6.469 million broadband customers and 5.904 million fixed voice users. The telco’s Business unit, meanwhile, claimed 24.732 million wireless subscribers, 492,000 broadband customers and 5.058 million fixed voice accesses.
CEO Hans Vestberg commented: ‘Verizon continued its momentum in the third quarter by driving strong wireless volumes in both our Consumer and Business segments, while delivering solid financial results, highlighted by continued wireless service revenue growth, increased cash flow, and EPS growth.’
