A report from Greece suggests that a number of foreign investors are interested in acquiring fixed and mobile operator Wind Hellas, which has been up for sale for some time. Kathimerini writes that at least four investment groups are eyeing an acquisition. They are thought to include Iliad Group of France which is looking to enter the Greek market via the purchase of an established player.
According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Wind Hellas was taken over by a group of creditors in 2010 via the holding company Largo. It was previously owned by Egyptian tycoon Naguib Sawiris’ via his Weather Investments unit. Wind sits in third place in Greece’s mobile and fixed markets behind Cosmote and Vodafone.
