Italy’s GO expands TD-LTE network with ZTE

18 Oct 2019

Italian ISP GO internet has contracted ZTE of China to provide it with 5G-ready TD-LTE base stations to complete its migration from WiMAX technology in the Marche region. Using its own spectrum licences and frequencies shared with partner operator Linkem, GO says it has access to 80MHz in the 3.5GHz band which will allow it to improve network speeds and capacity. GO recently signed a four-year loan deal with an unnamed bank group worth EUR3 million (USD3.3 million).
