NOW Corp affiliate NOW Telecom has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Filipino digital banking firm UnionBank to utilise and promote next-generation networks (NGNs), including the telco’s ‘pioneering’ fixed wireless access (FWA) broadband platform ‘Fiber Air’. Available in Metro Manila with more than 400 buildings already connected and with service coverage of up to 2km per building, NOW’s broadband FWA services offer guaranteed connectivity and unlimited service plans with scalable ultra-fast access speeds of up to 1Gbps. According to the MoU, UnionBank has embarked upon a ‘resilient digital transformation which would be enabled by new capabilities and platforms, among which would be NGN technology such as 5G’.
