Polish fixed and mobile operator Orange Polska has expanded its fibre-optic footprint via the acquisition of networks in and around the city of Chelm from local firm Netspeed. Telko.in reports that around 13,000 households will have their fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) services transferred from Netspeed to Orange under the deal. Netspeed will continue to provide technical support as an Orange partner.
At the end of June 2019 Orange’s fibre network footprint covered almost 3.8 million homes, with 434,000 active FTTH subscriptions at that date. The firm aims to reach five million premises with fibre by the end of next year.
