Cable ONE completes Fidelity Communications takeover

3 Oct 2019

Cable ONE – which operates in 21 states across the US – has announced the completion of its acquisition of the data, video and voice business and certain related assets of Fidelity Communications, as agreed in April this year. Fidelity Communications is a family-owned cable operator that has been providing residential and business services to customers throughout greater Arkansas, Illinois, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas for nearly 80 years. The transaction – valued at USD525.9 million – complements and expands Cable ONE’s footprint by adding approximately 190,000 homes passed. In addition, Cable ONE will inherit around 87,000 customers as part of the deal.

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Cable ONE claimed a broadband subscriber base of 681,762 at 30 June 2019, up from 653,876 one year earlier, and ranked as the US’s seventh largest cable broadband operator at that date.
