Drei unveils 5G tariffs, launches hybrid fixed-mobile solution

30 Sep 2019

Hutchison Drei Austria has begun marketing a range of 5G tariffs, following the activation of its 5G network in the city of Linz in June, the regions of Portschach am Worthersee and Worgl in August, and parts of Seestadt Aspern and Floridsdorf in the capital Vienna earlier this month. Until now, only selected test customers could use Drei’s 5G network, but the launch of the new tariffs and devices has now made the service available on a commercial basis.

To access the 5G service, customers can subscribe to the ‘PowerNet’ tariffs, which offer maximum down/upload speeds of 200Mbps/50Mbps and 500Mbps/50Mbps, and also require a ZTE MC801 5G router. Alongside this, Drei has launched a ‘hybrid’ fixed-mobile solution, which bundles a 4G mobile connection with fixed broadband and offers maximum speeds of 40Mbps, 100Mbps and 200Mbps.
