25 Sep 2019

Hull-based KCOM has announced that the number of customers connected to its ‘Lightstream’ branded full fibre broadband service has now surpassed 100,000. In a press release regarding the development, the operator noted that the subscriber milestone comes after it completed its full fibre rollout across Hull and East Yorkshire earlier this year; the deployment followed a seven-year programme costing GBP85 million (USD106 million). Commenting, KCOM managing director Sean Royce, said: ‘I’m delighted that 100,000 KCOM customers in Hull and East Yorkshire are now seeing the real benefits of our cutting edge Lightstream network … The full fibre technology we’ve rolled out across our network means the region is one of the most connected on the planet.’
