Italian wireless ISP GO internet has signed a four-year loan deal with an unnamed bank group worth EUR3 million (USD3.3 million). GO says the loan, which has been backed by Mediocredito Centrale, will help fund the upgrade of its TD-LTE fixed-wireless broadband network in the Marche region to 5G-ready technology. GO has rights to use frequencies in the 3.5GHz band covering the Marche and Emilia Romagna regions of Italy and also provides gigabit fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) connectivity in the city of Perugia thanks to an agreement with wholesale network operator Open Fiber.
