Vodafone, UPC Romania launch fixed/mobile bundling

Mobile operator Vodafone Romania and its newly acquired cableco division UPC Romania have launched bundled multi-play packages offering discounts on cellular, fixed broadband and pay-TV services. The move represents the start of the two companies’ integration following Vodafone Group’s acquisition of Liberty Global’s cable subsidiaries in Romania and three other European countries which was completed at the end of July. Murielle Lorilloux, CEO of Vodafone/UPC Romania, declared: ‘The fact that UPC and Vodafone are now together helps us to become a stronger player in terms of mobile, landline and TV services … to offer Romanians new and competitive solutions for convergent communication and entertainment.’

Residential Vodafone/UPC subscribers can currently take advantage of additional package benefits worth EUR100 (USD110.5), while business customers are being offered bonuses including up to twelve months of free TV options and discounted smartphones.
