GO launches converged broadband solution

17 Sep 2019

Maltese telco GO has teamed up with Belgium-based solutions provider Tessares to launch a converged fixed-mobile broadband offer. Using Multipath TCP technology, GO customers are offered a hybrid connectivity solution which combines GO’s fixed DSL networks and its LTE-A 4G wireless system. Joseph Attard, GO CTO, said: ‘Our primary focus is to utilise the leading-edge capabilities of GO’s fixed and mobile networks to offer innovative services such as immediate provisioning, backup services, wireless internet and faster internet access over the converged hybrid network.’ TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that GO had over 225,000 cellular subscribers and around 89,000 fixed broadband customers at the end of June 2019.
