Bakcell implements major LTE-A deployment

Bakcell, Azerbaijan’s second largest mobile network operator (MNO) by subscribers, has installed more than a thousand new LTE-A base transceiver stations (BTS) in the last four months, according to a company press release. The operator claims to have the country’s largest LTE network in terms of coverage and capacity, with over 2,700 LTE BTS covering around 91% of the population and the central areas of most regions. Bakcell’s LTE-A network uses carrier aggregation technology to achieve peak download speeds of 225Mbps.
