Nepal Telecom launches fibre broadband services in Mahendranagar

State-owned telecommunications provider Nepal Telecom has announced the launch of fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) services in Mahendranagar in the Kanchanpur District, reports Nepalitelecom.com. The operator currently has two distribution cabinets with capacity for 1,024 FTTH lines and plans to install a further seven in other areas of the municipality subject to demand. Prices currently start at NPR800 (USD6.87) a month for an 8Mbps connection. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Nepal Telecom’s FTTx network now covers more than 55 districts of Nepal.
