UPC enlarges Polish 1Gbps footprint

Cable operator UPC Poland has completed a further expansion of its 1Gbps home broadband service, taking in the cities of Ruda Slaska, Tychy, Lubin, Gdynia and Sopot. This adds to existing coverage in Warsaw, Gdansk, Szczecin, Bydgoszcz, Wroclaw, Katowice, Czestochowa and Krakow, with Sosnowiec due to be added to the list at the beginning of September, Broadband TV News writes. More than two million homes are now within UPC’s gigabit-capable footprint. The operator had 1.2 million broadband customers at the end of June.
