Italian pay-TV operator Sky Italia is hoping to launch itself as a multi-platform provider by early next year when it enters the country’s fixed broadband sector. In April 2018 Sky signed an agreement giving it access to fibre infrastructure being rolled out nationwide by wholesale operator Open Fiber. A report from Mondo Mobile Web now says that Sky’s fixed broadband launch is expected in late 2019 or early 2020. The satellite TV company is also reportedly looking to launch as an MVNO, though no details of a proposed launch schedule have been given.
