Liberty books USD2.9bn turnover following sale of units to Vodafone

UK-based cable group Liberty Global has reported revenues of USD2.85 billion from its continuing operations, representing a 0.9% decrease year-on-year on a rebased basis. The company completed the sale of its operations in Germany, Hungary, Romania and the Czech Republic to Vodafone on 31 July and has rebased its results to reflect only its continuing operations, including UPC Switzerland, the sale of which is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Operating cash flow was down 4.3% y-o-y to USD1.19 billion, whilst adjusted free cash flow was USD552 million.

The group counted a total of 25.3 million RGUs at end-June 2019, including 8.4 million video subscribers – down 58,700 compared to Q1 2019 – and 9.3 million broadband users, an increase of 9,600 quarter-on-quarter.
