Paratus Namibia expands TD-LTE network to Walvis and Swakopmund

8 Aug 2019

Paratus Namibia has announced it has completed the initial phase of its national TD-LTE rollout plan and will be launching TD-LTE services in Walvis Bay and Swakopmund later this week. The operator, which has deployed its own fibre network in Walvis Bay and Swakopmund and can also provide WiMAX services to both towns, highlighted that it has invested in its own independent mobile network to offer consumers and businesses an alternative to current offerings on the market. The rollout follows completion of the company’s 4,160km Trans-Kalahari Fibre network connecting the West Africa Cable System (WACS) landing station in Swakopmund with Dar es Salaam on Africa’s east coast.
