Antel internet subscribers reach 1m

Uruguayan state-owned operator Antel has revealed that the total number of homes connected to the internet has reached one million. Around 75% of those households access broadband services using the firm’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network, according to Antel’s President Andres Tolosa, with copper connections (21%) and 3G/4G mobile technology (4%) accounting for the remainder. He added that Antel made a net profit of USD150 million in 2018.
