Fibre sharing deal supports NOW Telecom expansion

According to local press reports Filipino publicly-listed firm NOW Corp today (26 July) signed an agreement with Philippine Fiber Optic Cable Network, a subsidiary of Singapore-based Hyalroute Group, for the commercial use of shared fibre-optic infrastructure to support the nationwide expansion of its telecoms unit, NOW Telecom. The pair have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to work together on the use of fibre assets nationwide including fibre-optic cores and other facilities, NOW Corp corporate secretary Angeline Macasaet confirmed in a disclosure to the local stock exchange. ‘The parties intend to collaborate on the fibre-optic cable network rollout that will strengthen and support NOW’s nationwide expansion,’ the statement read.
