Hungarian 5G auction set for September/October this year

Hungarian telecoms regulator the National Media & Infocommunications Authority (Nemzeti Media- es Hirkozlesi Hatosag, NMHH) has published its final plan for a multi-band 5G spectrum licence auction, offering 2×25MHz in the 700MHz band and 1×310MHz in the 3600MHz band, alongside 2×15MHz in the 2100MHz band and 1×15MHz in the 2600MHz band. Applications to participate in the auction are due by 8 August 2019, and the NMHH expects to publish the list of formally registered participants at the beginning of September. Candidates will bid firstly for the 2600MHz and 3600MHz bands, followed by bids for the 700MHz and 2100MHz bands, all taking place between 23 September and 11 October. The Authority aims to publish auction results in mid-October.
