18 Jul 2019

British mobile network operator (MNO) Vodafone UK, which earlier this month launched 5G services commercially in seven cities across the country, has announced an expansion of its coverage area to eight more locations. Following the service expansion, next generation mobile broadband technology is now available in: Birkenhead, Bolton, Gatwick, Lancaster, Newbury, Plymouth, Stoke-on-Trent and Wolverhampton.

As previously reported by CommsUpdate, on 3 July Vodafone UK switched on its 5G network in seven cities across the country, while unveiling a new range of tariffs that will offer unlimited data for both its 4G and 5G networks. At launch, the MNO’s 5G network footprint covered Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool and London, while other locations that are expected to be covered this year include Blackpool, Bournemouth, Guildford, Portsmouth, Reading, Southampton and Warrington.
